Record label Saregama India has launched Carvaan Mini Kids, the kids edition of its extremely successful Saregama Mini ‘radio’ product with built in digital audio content.
Unlike Carvaan and Carvaan mini, which come with popular songs and similar content for adults, the Carvaan Mini Kids — priced at Rs 2,990 — comes with rhymes, stories and learning content.
The device has over 300 stories in English and Hindi from sources such as like Panchtantra, Akbar & Birbal, Fairy Tales, Mythology and Lord Ganesha.
There are over 80 rhymes loaded on the device, including English and Hindi rhymes like Humpty Dumpty, Mary had a Little Lamb, Ringa Ringa Roses, Jack & Jill, Twinkle Twinkle, Chanda Mama aao naa, Lakdi ki Kaathi, Akad and Bakad Bambe Bo.
It also has learning content to familiarize kids with phonetics, days of the week, months of the year, numbers tables and so on.
Carvaan Mini Kids also comes with 33 mantras and devotional songs, including Om Shanti Mantra, Gayatri Mantra, Hanuman Chalisa, Sai Dhun.
The key advantage of the device, which has played a crucial role in the popularity of other Carvaan players, is the ease of operation.
The content is preloaded on the device and is not refreshed or downloaded from the internet. Because of this, the device is easy to use, Saregama said.
Saregama promises playtime of “up to 6 hours” on a single charge.
It also supports Bluetooth connectivity, USB and has aux in and out for connection to a wired source, such as a PC.
Since it comes with a Bluetooth connectivity, it can also be paired with any Android phone or tablet and used as an external speaker for the device, making it easier to enjoy videos and songs on such devices.
