World Is One News, the only India-based television news channel with correspondents across the world, said it has signed up its first distributor in the Middle East in the form of Etisalat for the cable markets of UAE and Qatar.
Besides Etisalat, it said the channel is also being launched on Du and Ooredoo networks.
Recently, the one-year-old channel was also made available in the seven African countries of Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Botswana & Rwanda.
“Come the months February to April, WION will be spreading its outreach to other South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar,” broadcaster Zee Media Corp said.
Talks are underway to launch it on other platforms in Australia & New Zealand too, the company said.
The channel tries to cover world events ‘from an Indian perspective’, and has correspondents in several capitals outside India, including Islamabad, London and Washington.
It is part of the Zee Group, one of India’s biggest media conglomerates.
