The Congress led UDF government will swear in on Wednesday in Kerala, UDF Convener PP Thankachan said.
Thankachan also said that the selection of Oommen Chandy as the head of the coalition has been unanimously approved by the all the parties in the United Democratic Front.
There are likely to be 21 Ministers — the legal maximum for a legislative assembly with 140 members.
He denied that there was any ‘danger’ to the government from the wafer thin, 2-seat majority.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that out of the 21 ministers, Muslim League, which has 20 seats, wants 5 seats. KM Mani, who heads Kerala Congress party, wants 3 ministers for his 9 MLAs.
Thankachan also defended the possible inclusion of MLAs, against whom corruption inquiries and cases are going on, in the state cabinet.
Some of the coalition partners of Congress are likely to recommend MLAs who have ongoing corruption and criminal inquiries against them for inclusion in the cabinet.
