Acer brings lower-priced, Gateway branded monitors to India

Acer has launched four new monitors – KX 1563, KX 1853, HX 1953 and FHX 2153 – under its lower-price Gateway brand in India.

Gateway has been Acer’s brand for the cost conscious and first-time buyers, and has largely been confined to notebooks so far in India. Acer has a strong marketshare in the monitor segment.

“As leaders in the TFT monitor segment for the past 16 quarters, our product solutions have always addressed the requirements of diverse user segments with differing needs,” said S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India.

The new range of monitors Available in 39.624 cms (15.6”), 46.99 cms (18.5”), 49.53 cms (19.5”) and 54.61 cms (21.5”) screen sizes, and offer a contrast ratio of 100 million: 1 and a resolution of 1366 x 768 and are priced at Rs 4,800 onwards.

Acer will also offer an extended warranty of three years on the monitors at what it called “a very nominal price.”
