Air Asia offers Chennai-Bangkok return flight at Rs 6,666

Air Asia, credited with popularizing the low cost airline phenomenon in Asia announced special Rs 6,666 return tickets for its new flights from Chennai to Bangkok in Thailand.

Tickets must be booked online at the company’s website between 9 to 14 February for travel during anyday between 23 March and 27 October 2012, it said.

The fare includes all taxes, charges and levies and is cheaper than that of most Chennai-Delhi flights and even some Chennai-Mumbai flights.

The scheme has been launched to mark the beginning of Air Asia’s service from Chennai to Bangkok, a top holiday destination for Indians.

Ranked as the second most popular destination for outbound Indian travelers, approximately 791,185 visited Thailand in 2010 and over 800,000 people in 2011. Apart from Bangkok’s attractive shopping malls and bustling night-life, other popular destinations that travelers from India continue to visit in Thailand include Pattaya, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.

AirAsia runs about 139 routes and has 106 aircrafts.
