Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp has launched the biggest phone in India — the HTC One X — priced at a hefty Rs 38,000.
The phone is notable primarily because it has the largest display of any phone in the country and comes with the latest Android operating system, the Ice Cream Sandwich.
The HTC One X is also the only phone with an HD display — supporting a resolution of 720*1280 pixels.
With a diagonal length of 4.7 inches, the One x has a display area of 9.43 square inches. In comparison, the biggest displays on phone available in the Indian market come with a diagonal size of 4.3 inches, or an area of 7.91 square inches.
As a result, the HTC One X display is almost one-fifth bigger than those on the biggest Android phones available in India at present.
The only challenger to the One X in terms of size is the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Galaxy note, with its 12 square-inch display has 27% more real estate on its screen.
In addition, the Galaxy note comes at Rs 32,700, or about 14% cheaper than the HTC One X. The Samsung Galaxy Note also has a bigger battery (2500 mAh), compared to the One X (1800 mAh).
Almost all the other features are the same, except weight. The One X weighs in at 130 gm while the Galaxy Note weighs 178 gm. Both support 21 Mbps HSPA 3G connections as well.
