Global IT purchases will grow by around 7.1% in 2011 — slightly lower than 7.2% in 2010 — according to IT market research firm Forrester Research. The forecast is a more subdued one than that of July last year, when the agency had predicted an 8.4% growth. In July, it had also foreseen a growth 7.8% in 2010, but actual growth came in at 7.2%.
India, expected to post one of the fastest growth rates in 2011, will be the in the 12th place with a $29 billion market size, compared to China, which is expected to post a size of $136 billion this year. India would be the third fastest growing large IT market of the year, behind Brazil and China, with 9% growth.
