The Motorola Xoom, the best challenger to Applie iPad2, has been launched in India for a price of Rs 39,000 (Rs 38,999) by Letsbuy.com.
The Xoom is the only 10 inch tablet other than the iPad available in India and has features very similar to the iPad, though in some technical ways, Xoom is more advanced that the Apple product.
Apple’s iPad2 is available at around Rs 36,000 (for the 3G version), making Xoom around 10% costlier than the iPad. The Wifi only version of Zoom costs Rs 32,000 (32 GB) while the 32 GB iPad2 with Wifi only costs around Rs 34,000. However, a 16 GB Wifi-only iPad2 costs only around Rs 29,000.
The Motorola Xoom has got moderate to high marks in reviews across the world, but has found itself tagged as an expensive buy.
However, unlike most tablets including the iPad, the Xoom is also targeted at executives who want to convert their tablet into a makeshift or main computer by adding accessories such as stands, wireless keyboards, mice etc..
