After coming under sever public scrutiny and criticism for his silence on the issue of the action against Baba Ramdev, Prime Minister Manmohan SIngh defended police action.
He said the “action was unfortunate but there was no alternative”.
He also said that his government is serious in fighting corruption and there is no “magic wand” to remove this malaise.
His comments have come in the wake of a crack down on a peaceful agitation in the Ramlila grounds on Saturday night, bringing widespread condemnation.
