Samsung’s fitness devices — Gear Fit2 fitness band and Gear IconX smart headphone — are now available for pre-order on Flipkart.
The devices were unveiled in India earlier this month and are priced in the Rs 13,490-13,990 range.
The Gear Fit2 band is priced at Rs 13,990 and comes in black, blue and pink colours whereas Gear IconX smart headphone is priced at Rs 13,490 and comes only in white colour.
The Fit2 is essentially a stripped down version of a smart watch, and does not have the ability to make phone calls or surf the web.
However, unlike its predecessor, the latest version of the device does have the ability to play music without having to depend on a smartphone, enabling you to leave your phone at home when you step out for a jog.
Also unlike its predecessor, the Fit2 can be paired with any smartphone that runs on Android 4.4 or higher. The earlier version required a Samsung Galaxy phone to operate.
The Gear Fit2 also comes with an embedded GPS and a heart rate monitor which provides instant feedback on the users workout.
The device has a 1.5 inch AMOLED curved display with a resolution of 93,312 pixels compared to 55,296 pixels on the older model. It operates with the Tizen OS and comes with 512MB RAM, 4 GB storage, Bluetooth v 4.2 and a Dual Core (1 GHz) processor.
The band is powered by a 200mAh battery and sizes of small or large with a weight range between 28-30 grams.
The second device is a smart headphone. Unlike normal headphones, the smart headphone enables tracking of fitness data such as distance, speed, duration, heart rate and calories burned adn includes a Voice Guide feature that provides instant voice feedback on the user’s workout progress
Gear IconX has a storage space of 4GB and can store upto 1000 songs and is enabled with Bluetooth v 4.1.
It weighs around 6.3 grams per earbud and is powered by a 315 mAH battery.
