India’s largest power generation company NTPC reported a surge in its operating profit by 62.6% to Rs 3,815 crore to Rs 2345 crore due to increase in revenue and relatively slower increase in its expenses for the first quarter.
However, the impact of higher taxes hit the net profit.
Profit grew by 4.3% to Rs 2,340 crores from Rs 2,243 crores whereas revenue grew by 11.5% to Rs 19,063 crores from Rs 17,092 crores.
The installed capacity increased by 2130 MW compare to the same period the previous year.
Power generation grew by 10 % in April-June quarter as compared to the same period the previous year.
There was an increase of 3.5% in the April-June quarter this year compared to the January-March the previous year.
