Jyothy Laboratories said profit increased by 78.2% in the Apr-June quarter to Rs. 45.9 crore, helped by lower commodity prices.
Sales were up by 8.9% from Rs 403.9 crore compared with the same period last year.
He further added that good monsoon across most of the country will see a revival of demand in consumer goods.
The company’s fabric care and dish washing segment of products contributed to the major chunk of revenue at 48.5% and 30.3 % respectively.
The household insecticides segment, which only contributed Rs 34 crores revenue, did not perform up to expectations. Chairman & Managing Director M P Ramachandran said that the household insecticide business was impacted due to the extended summer.
He said that with differentiated product positioning they are more confident of capturing more market share.
Ujala, Maxo, Exo, Henko, Pril, Margo, Neem, Chek and Mr. White are the well known and established brands in the company’s product portfolio.
