The chargesheet has been filed in a special court in Ghaziabad, the company said. Special courts are usually set up to deal with cases by agencies like CBI and National Investigation Agency.

HCL Info said one of its employees has also been named in the chargesheet, and summons have been issued by the court.

“The Company maintains very high standards of corporate governance and we state strongly that neither the company nor the employee charged have engaged in any wrongdoing and we will contest the charge sheet in accordance with the law.”

A week ago, HCL Infosystems said its MD Harshavardhan Madhav Chitale will step down and be replaced by Premkumar Seshadri next year. Chitale will remain with the company till this month-end. Seshadri, who is currently Director and Executive Vice-Chairman, was also appointed Managing Director effective from January 1, 2015.
