A day after SpiceJet announced Rs 499 scheme, competitor Jet Airways followed suit for Economy class passengers on its domestic network.
“Guests will be able to enjoy substantial discounts across all destinations on the airlines’ domestic network. The all inclusive fares start from INR 500,” the company said.
It may be noted that customers have to pay extra fees such as airport charges and user fees in addition to the fare.
The 2 day special fare offer will be available for sale on September 3 and September 4, 2014 and travel effective January 16, 2015 onwards, for flights within India. The offer is valid for travel only on direct flights on the airline’s domestic network, but is not applicable on group bookings.
Most of SpiceJet’s low-fare tickets have already been sold out with tens of thousands of passengers taking advantage of the offer on the first day. Jet Airways is trying to come back into a cut-throat market. It recently announced that it would unify its brands under the Jet Airways umbrella.
