BMW Group India will launch its hybrid petrol-electric limosine, the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 in India on 23 July at 12:30 pm in Gurgaon.
The luxury limo has both an electric motor as well as a 3-liter petrol engine. Under easy conditions, the car will run entirely on electric power until the batteries run out, after which the petrol engine will kick in. The electric-only mode can last for a “few miles”, according to reports.
It is not clear whether there is a recharging option for the 140-liter battery, or whether it can only be charged by the petrol engine.
“The all-new BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is the most efficient way to experience luxury and dynamics. The full hybrid with an intelligent hybrid drive system and a host of innovative auxiliary functions underpins excellent energy management,” the company said.
The India launch will take place at Bird Automotive, Plot No. 4, Industrial Development Colony, Opposite Sector -14, Gurgaon.
