In a coup of sorts to Chennai-based cloud-solutions provider Ramco Systems, Dell has agreed to offer Ramco’s ERP cloud solution to its mid-market clients.
ERP or enterprise resource planning helps big organizations and companies manage their resources and assets by tabulating and generally keeping track of assets, people and inventories. It helps companies figure out when inventories of finished products and raw materials are running low, or piling up.
Ramco has been one of the pioneers of cloud computing in India and has had the cloud-based ERP for several years. Cloud-based ERP competes with ERP software from SAP, Oracle etc..
Dell has a strong and fast-growing role in selling computers and other IT systems to companies, small and big, in India. Ramco is likely to benefit from having Dell as a sales partner, particularly as SaaS or Cloud-based products are oriented more towards the smaller companies, which tend to be difficult to reach out to due to their higher number.
“Dell is committed to delivering next-generation solutions to our customers and this partnership significantly strengthens our next-generation applications portfolio. Adding Ramco’s ERP on Cloud to our existing capabilities will help us deliver a completely integrated enterprise-class solution to our customers”, said Raman Sapra, Executive Director, Strategy and M&A, Applications & BPO, Dell Services.
Ramco’s ERP on Cloud supports businesses with wide functionalities across various industry segments, including production planning, asset management, and analytics along with regular corporate functionalities of HR, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and financial management. The solution is designed to ensure quick adoption and time-to-value, Dell said.
The Ramco ERP-as-a-service on Cloud solution allows midmarket enterprises ease of adopting evergreen, feature rich business applications with significant cost and management advantages, it said. “Additionally, the solution offers customers unique features like tools for personalizing applications to suit their requirements, architecture enabling co-existence and integration with other business applications, and compatibility on various mobility platforms,” Dell said.
Part of the USD 1 Billion Ramco Group, the company offers ERP, HCM, SCM, CRM, Financials, Asset Management, Process Control, Project Management and Analytics to 40+ verticals on the most appropriate cloud model—public, private and community. It has over 150,000+ users from 1000+ customer organizations across 35 countries. The company currently has 17 offices spread across USA, Canada, Europe, India, Middle East, South Africa and APAC and employs over 1,800 employees, the company said.
