Most Reliance Jio 4G users have to recharge their phones by Friday, July 14 to continue uninterrupted service.
This because the current offer — Summer Surprise or Dhan Dhana Dhan — came into effect on April 16, and will complete 90 days by Friday.
The Summer Surprise plan had a validity of 90 days and the Dhan Dhana Dhan scheme was valid for 84 days.
Most Jio users had recharged before April 15 to avail of these schemes.
If these users do not recharge again by Friday, they will not be able to make outgoing calls or use data starting from Saturday.
However, those who purchased their connection after April 15 will continue to get their daily data till the end of the 84-day period.
To facilitate the recharge, Jio has unveiled a set of new plans which are largely similar to the earlier ones, but are slightly more expensive.
For example, under Dhan Dhana Dhan and Summer Surprise, the operator was providing nearly three months of data at 1 GB per day for Rs 309. However, under the new plans, Jio is offering the same for Rs 399.
For Rs 309, you get 1 GB per day, but for only 56 days instead of 84.
Similarly, for Rs 502, you get 2 GB per day for 56 days, instead of 84 under Dhan Dhana Dhan.
The operator has also unveiled a couple of other plans which do not carry a daily data limit.
The Rs 349 plan offers 20 GB of data with no daily cap and a validity of 56 days.
For 999, you can get 90 GB of data valid for 90 days and no daily cap.
There is also another plan priced at Rs 1,999 that offers 155 GB and a validity of 120 days. The new schemes can seen in the attached chart.
Meanwhile, some users are likely to hold on till the July 21 annual general meeting of Reliance Industries to see if any new schemes or discounts are announced.
