Mohanlal’s latest movie ‘Lucifer’ directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is continuing its glorious run at the box-office, and until now, it has grossed more than 85 crores. Current demand for tickets and advanced booking status indicate that the film will enter the 100 crore club in another three to four days. However, Lucifer’s box-office run will not be that smooth after April 12, as Mammootty’s much-anticipated movie ‘Madhura Raja’ is releasing on this date.
Expectations surrounding ‘Madhura Raja’ were very low until yesterday, but breaking all the prejudices, makers of the movie, April 05 released a mindblowing trailer, and it has made many people believe that something big is waiting on the screen. It should be also noted that ‘Madhura Raja’ is directed by Vyshakh, who has previously made ‘Pulimurugan’, a film that collected more than 165 crores at the box-office.
Even in the midst of all these positive factors, it should be noted that Mammootty is not going through the nicest patches of his career, at least since 2010. Most of his movies were removed from theaters within one week of its release without any traces, and this factor has negatively impacted the stardom of the megastar in Mollywood.
However, Mammootty has still the capability to come back like a phoenix bird if a movie starts receiving positive reviews. Mammootty fans believe that ‘Madhura Raja’ will mark the end of his hit draught, and they hope that this movie will emerge as an all-time blockbuster at the box-office.
‘Madhura Raja’ is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Pokkiri Raja’ which was also directed by Vyshakh. Interestingly, Prithviraj Sukumaran who played a crucial role in the prequel is not involved in this star cast of this film. Instead, Tamil actor Jai is playing a pivotal role in this movie.
The supporting star cast includes Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Salim Kumar, Anusree, Shamna Kasim, and Vijayaraghavan. Bollywood starlet Sunny Leone is also doing an item number for this movie.
