Facing increasing heat from the Honda Mobilio, Toyota Kirloskar Motor today announced the launch of the new Innova and the Fortuner 4X4 Automatic.
Innova is without doubt India’s most popular ‘people mover’ and has dominated the Indian roads since its launch in 2005. However, the seven-seater is also considered extremely expensive, being priced about Rs 13 lakhs and upwards in most places in India.
The all new Innova is available in the price range of Rs. 10,51,451 and Rs. 15,80,930, Ex-showroom Delhi (post increased excise duty). The new Fortuner is available in the price range of Rs. 24,17,200 and Rs. 26,49,429, Ex-showroom Delhi.
The Innova will come with new design seats, third and second row fold, third row roof vent, touch-screen display and offer 13.31 km to the liter on its 2.5 liter diesel engine.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor also became the first manufacturer in the mass segment to have standardized front SRS airbags across all models and in all grades.
In addition to the “All New Innova”, TKM also launched the new Fortuner, now available in 4×4 automatic.
The Fortuner is an Urban SUV, and is designed for both off-roading and city driving.
Both the Innova and the Fortuner are built on Toyota’s IMV Platform (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle). IMV series vehicles are supposed to be designed to provide unprecedented satisfaction in terms of comfort, styling, handling, safety, fuel economy, and environmental sensitivity.
