Goa, India’s top holiday destination, saw a record number of visitors in October.
Total arrivals hit 4,76,861 in the month, up 13.5% from previous year, thanks to a recovering economy in India.
Domestic tourist arrivals for the month of October has surpassed last year’s figure recording a 13.8 per cent increase. Similarly, 11 per cent increase has also been recorded in the foreign tourist arrivals in October 2014.
Goa sees a lot of traffic inflow from colder countries like Russia and Europe in winter season, while a lot of Indians from the North India, where there is no sea, also converge on the state, especially in winter.
