Etihad increases baggage allowance for Indian students

Etihad Airways has increased the baggage allowance for Indian students travelling abroad.

The benefit will be available for Indian students travelling to the US and the UK between 1 June and 30 September 2014 from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi.

Etihad Airways flies to Washington, New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Moscow and other cities from India.

Under the EduFly program, students will receive an extra 10 kg baggage allowance when traveling to the UK and Europe, and one additional piece of luggage (weighing no more than 23 kgs) when travelling to the US.

The program will also offer a host of other freebies from partners including Matrix International and Axis bank.

“Matrix International will offer free 1 GB data for the first month for students in the UK, 50 per cent discount on the first month of rental when purchasing a student connection in the US and 250 Rupees worth of free talk-time for students buying a Matrix global card in Russia. Meanwhile Axis Bank will offer preferential exchange rates and will waiver issuance fees on all Axis Bank Travel Currency Cards issued to students.”

UAE-based Etihad has a tie-up with India’s Jet Airways as well.
