Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Auto India today launched its first exclusive Lounge and also showcased the much awaited new generation S80 at the Terminal 3 Domestic Departure, Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
The New Generation Volvo S80, showcased at the Lounge, features the groundbreaking concept of Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection with full auto brake, the automaker said.
The D5 summum has a mileage of 14.69 kms/ltr. It is available in D4 and D5 diesel engine, priced at Rs 41.35 lacs and Rs 44.80 lacs respectively (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
Mr. Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India says, “With the new Volvo S80 we are taking our philosophy of ‘Designed Around You’ a step further, for our esteemed customers with changes designed around their comfort and need.
“We have focused on quality and attention to detail in order to give S80 a major boost and sharpen its competitiveness. When it comes to safety we’re always a step ahead and a lot safer. The City Safety has been advanced from 30km/h to 50km/h. This car is retailed through Volvo car dealerships across the country” Mr. Ernberg added.
The latest version of the company’s City Safety feature prevents collisions up to 50 km/h. This laser based feature senses emergency situations beforehand and pre-charges the brakes to increase the impact of braking or even deploys the brakes if in case they aren’t timely applied.
The car also comes with paddle shifters on the steering. They turn the automatic box into a manual with the benefit of gear shifting with both hands on the wheel. The paddle shifters give the enthusiastic driver an additional edge, particularly when powering round twisty roads.
