Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 134,209 units in October 2015, a growth of 29.1 per cent.
This includes 121,063 units in the domestic market and 13,146 units in exports.
The Company had sold a total of 103,973 units in October 2014.
The biggest jump was seen in the sales of compact cars, which includes Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Baleno. Baleno was launched last month.
Ciaz sales declined as the company had launched the car in October last year and seen strong initial demand. However, Ciaz sales were still decent at 5,890. However, given that October was a festival month, bookings could be seen as slightly disappointing.
Maruti Suzuki also sold 9,435 Utility Vehicles – a category that has seen the recent addition of the first real SUV from India’s largest carmaker — the S-Cross. Last year, it had sold only 6,027 utility vehicles.
