SpiceJet, one of India’s top budget airlines, said it has not received any request from the Airports Authority of India seeking extra charges from it.
“A section of media is reporting that Airport Authority of India has asked SpiceJet to pay an additional daily amount. However we would like to clarify that SpiceJet has been paying to AAI, on daily basis the agreed amount of Rs.1.35cr. Other than this we have not received any notice from AAI in this regard,” the airline said.
SpiceJet is one of India’s most popular airline and recently survived a near bankruptcy. It was saved after a new investor came onboard and put in funds.
