Housing.com gets a new Chief Business Officer

jasonHousing.com, which recently fired its founder and CEO Rahul Yadav, said it had appointed Jason Kothari as its Chief Business Officer and member of the Operating Committee to drive its overall strategy and growth in India.

Jason, together with iCEO & COO Rishabh Gupta, will be reporting to the Operating Committee and the Board, the company said.

Prior to Housing.com, Jason was the co-founder & CEO of Valiant Entertainment, where he successfully led the acquisition and turnaround of former $65 million unit of video game company Acclaim Entertainment, which owns and controls a library of popular entertainment characters, resulting in a 50x company value increase and global media recognition calling the company “Marvel 2.0”. The Company raised over $300 million from leading strategic investors like the former CEO of Marvel and DMG Entertainment.

“Jason played a lead role in transforming the company from a dormant traditional print publisher in Chapter 7 bankruptcy to a dynamic print & digital publishing, media and merchandising company. In recognition of the Company’s efforts, Valiant was named Publisher of the Year, created one of the strongest independent major motion picture development slates in the industry, including a five picture partnership with Sony Pictures,” Housing.com said.

Jason is a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School and has been a Guest Lecturer in Entrepreneurship through Acquisition and Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Wharton. He is also a personal investor and advisor to various start-up companies.
