Fascino and Saluto help Yamaha report 16.5% growth in July auto sales

Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. announced that it has registered a growth of 16.5% in domestic sales during July 2015 as compared to the corresponding period last year, one of its best performances in recent months.

“Along with its innovative efforts, ongoing customer-centric activities, exciting product line-up with the addition of recently launched stylish scooter ‘Fascino’ and 125cc commuter bike Yamaha ‘Saluto’ and its variant launch (with disk brake), has been instrumental in boosting its sales. Further the company went aggressive on the dealership expansion across the nation,” it said.

The company sold 58,591 units in July 2015 as against 50,286 units sold in July last year in the domestic market thereby registering a domestic sales growth of 16.5%.

Exports stood at 16,689 units in July 2015 as against 15,654 Units sold in July last year indicating a growth of 6.6%.

Commenting on the company’s gradual growth, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said,”

“This month we witnessed brisk growth due to our exciting product line-up, new launches during the year and an enhanced dealer network. Our new stylish Scooter ‘Fascino’ and 125 cc bike Yamaha Saluto, have indeed been key in boosting our sales. We will continue to bring new excitement to our customers with new products and marketing initiatives which will help us post record numbers in the coming months as well.”

Yamaha made its initial foray into India in 1985. In August 2001, Yamaha India became a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC). In 2008, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. entered into an agreement with YMC to become a joint-investor in India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM).

YMC has established its wholly-owned subsidiary – Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. (YMIS) in India to independently support IYM in Sales & Marketing of its products.
