Eon Electric Limited (EEL) said it won a Rs 51 crore for Streetlights in Aligarh, UP and Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
60,000 LED streetlights will be installed at Jodhpur and 13,000 at Aligarh.
The street lights are installed with Centrally Controlled System, which continuously monitors and reports satisfactory performance and energy conservation of these LED Streetlights, Eon said.
LED lights generate more light per watt that compact fluorescent lights. LED lights produce about 80-90 lumen per watt, while CFL lamps produce about 60-65 lumen.
LED Streetlights ensure glare-free light for ease, comfort and safety on the road, while walking or driving. By preventing dark patches in between Streetlights, they safeguard pedestrians. This well-spread road light is especially important for the safety of children, women and elderly pedestrians, who may not be so well versed with street safety norms.
The company won in an open bidding process of the Government-sponsored Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) and for being associated with the Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Governments to transform the region’s lighting and energy savings scenario.
