Commercial vehicle manufacturer SML Isuzu Ltd. said it launched two new passenger vehicles — Executive Lx coach and Ecomax Bus — to its commercial passenger vehicles category today.
The Executive Lx Coach will seat 18 passengers plus two and has pushback reclining seats. It is designed for the tours & travel operators and staff shuttle operations.
The bus offers on-board entertainment system, individual AC tours & louvers, reading lamps, mobile charging points, etc, the company said.
The second model, Ecomax bus, is designed and built on a small wheelbase of 281.,5 mm has either 12 or 13 push back reclining seats, excluding the driver, and comes with features like wide comfortable seats, spacious interiors, effective air conditioning, individual mobile charging points, etc.
The low turning circle radius in Ecomax buses enables movement in narrow lanes and by lanes, the company claimed. The Japanese company already has Ecomax branded trucks in India.
The company said it showcased the latest products at the Bus World 2016 expo in Bangalore.
SML Isuzu Limited was formed in 2010 from the Swaraj Mazda company after Mazda pulled out of the venture and the Swaraj name was sold to Mahindra when the tractor division Punjab Tractors was sold off. The Sumitomo Corporation and Isuzu are now partners in this company and together have produced several licensed-Isuzu products.
