V- Guard Industries Ltd, which focuses largely on motors and electric parts, amended its company documents to enter the home and kitchen appliances market along with the existing product categories.
The company was founded in 1977 by Kochouseph Chittilappilly as a small voltage stabilizer manufacturing unit.
It later expanded to other rotating instruments such pumps, fans and mixer grinders.
The expansion into the home and kitchen appliances category is likely to bring new product lines such as televisions for the company.
The decision was made by the Board of Directors of the Company in their meeting held on 21st September.
V-Guard Industries Ltd is an electrical appliances manufacturer based in India with an annual turnover of around Rs 2000 cr.
It currently manufactures voltage stabilizers, wiring cables, electric pumps, electric motors, geysers, solar water heaters, electric fans and UPSs.
V-Guard has 500 distributors, 3,000 direct dealers, more than 20,000 retailers and service centres spread across the 29 states.
