HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company launched a web enabled HDFC ERGO Community portal for the consumers and the stakeholders of general insurance sector.
The website has been modeled after tech forums, and is supposed to “serve as a channel for its users to research, get advice, discuss and share their experiences and knowledge on non-life insurance products with others registered users within the community.”
“We have taken the initiative of providing consumers with the knowledge of General Insurance products and thereby set best practices within the insurance sector. The community portal has been conceptualized with the objective of helping users take informed decisions for their general insurance requirements and will be a one-stop-shop for comprehensive information about non-life insurance products and services. Over time, the community portal will have quality content by the users and may provide inputs on how to improve and extend new product offerings,” said Ritesh Kumar, Managing Director & CEO, HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company.
The main objective of the community portal is to provide authentic, value-added and usable information to its users, the company said.
Users can register and log in to the community portal to seek answers to their queries from fellow users.
Though the potential for such platforms are there, the main issue around developing these have been getting enough people to sign up.
