eBay India, a leading online marketplace and shopping destination, has launched a one week campaign by giving 60% off on products in the clothing and accessories category, celebrating World Fashion Day on Aug 21.
Consumers can style up their fashion and enjoy the deal with a wide range of products across the clothing and accessories category.
The sale which started on Sunday will continue till 26th Aug 2016.
“Keeping in mind the increasing focus of the fashion segment in the online retail space, we are marking the celebration of ‘World Fashion Day’ by organizing a week long sale. The sale will allow consumers to shop for a variety of products in the fashion segment ranging from ethic and western clothing to the latest accessories.¨, Said the eBay Indiaś Director of Marketing, Shivani Suri.
eBay India recently crossed 100million live listings wherein clothing and accessories was the most shopped category, said the company.
Consumers can purchase these products on EMI through ICICI, Citibank and HDFC, credit card, said the company.
Once the dominant player in India’s online retail industry, eBay has come under increasing pressure in recent years due to the emergence of so-called inventory players like Amazon and Flipkart.
Unlike eBay, which originated as a platform for individuals to sell or exchange their used items, the other platforms are more geared towards selling new items.
eBay, however, has also adapted its business model to the new opportunity and serves as a platform for many wholesalers and retailers.
However, the platform suffers from one key shortcoming — the absence of user feedback and reviews on products. User reviews are used by most online shoppers to decide whether to buy an item or not.
