PLATFORM RULES

All members are required to strictly abide by the following rules:

HONESTY: Members who publish articles on this platform cannot use misleading, deceptive or false headlines just to lure others to click on the story.

TRANSPARENT: Members of this knowledge-sharing platform are prohibited from taking any kind of favors from the subject of their write-ups, except on rare occasions when we use shared travel arranged by a company or organization to their venue/location. Members of Ultra News platform cannot promise favorable coverage on Ultra News to the persons or organizations about whom they write in return for access. All ‘favors’ that they receive, including any kind of ‘expense reimbursements’ received from any third party needs to be disclosed on this page. Members are prohibited from taking any kind of monetary or non-monetary compensation from any third party in return for their write-ups on Ultra News. The only form of revenue allowed is honest and clearly demarcated advertising that they can put up against their articles. All other forms of non-transparent advertising are banned from this platform, including ‘native advertising’, ‘paid news’, ‘referral links’ and other deceptive or dishonest form of content that dilutes the distinction between independent content and marketing material.

FEEDBACK: This platform does not pre-censor comments under the posts and in the ordinary course of events, do not remove comments just because they are critical of a member’s post.

‘ONLY’ OR ‘FIRST’: Members are banned from posting any kind of spam or rehashed content on this platform. Members are required to post only information that can’t be found elsewhere, either because they have it ahead of others, or because it is, by its very nature, exclusive to them — such as an analysis of a situation. The first type of articles are tagged under ‘First On ULTRA NEWS‘ (RSS), while exclusive information and analysis are tagged under ‘Only On ULTRA NEWS‘ (RSS).

BIAS: Members are free to choose what they want to write on and what they would rather ignore. But what they do write about, they are expected to do so in a completely impartial way without showing any fear or favor and in keeping with our content guidelines. The platform does not censor or take down the content put out by the members, except where it is required to comply with the laws of the land.

In addition to the above rules, we prohibit any content that:

(i) belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right;
(ii) is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another‘s privacy, including bodily privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, libelous, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force;
(iii) is harmful to children;
(iv) infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights;
(v) violates any law for the time being in force;
(vi) deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly and intentionally communicates any information which is patently false or misleading in nature but may reasonably be perceived as a fact (fake news);
(vii) impersonates another person;
(viii) threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting other nation;
(ix) contains software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
(x) is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form, with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person;
