Perhaps the last variant of the Desire 820 series from HTC, Desire 820G+, is now available in India at Rs 17,500. The handset is priced at Rs 19,000 on Indiatimes.com and 19,500 on eBay.
Essentially, the 820G Plus is the 3G-only version of the Desire 820 and 820s and comes with an older processor and offers 1 GB of RAM instead of 2 GB found in the older 820 models.
Of course, it makes no sense to buy the Desire 820G Plus at any price above Rs 16,000 because the 4G version of the phone, the Desire 820s, is available on Amazon at just Rs 18,400.
The Desire 816G, which has the exact same configuration as the newly launched model, is available at Rs 14,000.
The Desire 820G+ is meant as a cheaper alternative to the 820s, and is supposed to be selling at a price that is about 20-25% below the 4G models. It will be available for around Rs 16,500 in about three-four weeks from now.
In terms of looks and other specifications, the Desire 820g Plus is the same as the 820, 820q and 820s. All four come with 720p 5.5-inch displays, 16 GB of internal memory, 13+8 MP cameras and dual-SIM support.
