Finally, Android Lolipop has hit the entry-level market, with Micromax and Lava both launching low-priced models with Android 5 – Lava Iris Alfa L and Micromax Unite 3.
The Lava Iris Alfa L is definitely the more interesting of the two thanks to its large, 5.5-inch display. The phone, priced at Rs 7,500, has an 8 MP camera supplemented a front-shooter of 5 MP.
Internal memory is 8 GB, but battery is a respectable 3 Ah and RAM 1 GB. One of the two SIM slots supports 3G.
The display resolution in qHD (0.5 MP).
Micromax Unite 3 is available on Infibeam at Rs 6,800, and frankly, is a bit underwhelming for the price. The display, especially, is a let down at 4.7 inches and 480*800 pixels (0.38 MP) resolution.
Most other specifications of Micromax Unite 3 are similar to those of Lava Iris Alfa L.
Both phones come with IPS displays, which should ensure decent visibility at all angles. Battery for the Micromax Unite 3, however, is just 2 Ah.
