Ramco inks cloud-computing deal with Dubai’s Emirates Engineering

India’s biggest cloud computing company, Ramco Systems, has inked a deal with Dubai-based Emirates aviation group for supplying cloud-based services to its engineering group.

The revenue size of the deal, involving Ramco’s ‘Aviation Suite’ of software, was not disclosed.

The suite of cloud-based software offers complete ERP functionality including HR, Finance, and Materials.

“We have signed the Master Supply Agreement for five years with the Emirates Group, the world’s largest commercial carrier. We have been growing our footprint in the global Aviation Industry and are excited about this undertaking, which opens up opportunities for future business endeavors,” said Virender Aggarwal, CEO of Ramco Systems.

Chennai-based Ramco group has businesses such as infrastructure and cement, textiles and cloud computing. It is practically India’s only cloud-computing brand to make it big.

Cloud computing refers to remotely maintained software for enterprises, which are used and accessed by employees using the Internet from their offices. Cloud computing cuts down the cost of owning and maintaining enterprise-scale software for managing employees, resources etc..

Ramco’s aviation customers include Emirates, Air India, Pinnacle Airlines, CONAIR, PHI, Air Methods, Era Helicopters, AeroMexico Connect, Republic Airways, Chautauqua, Shuttle America, TACA Regional, Air New Zealand’s SafeAir Limited, JEJU Air Co. Ltd. Gulf Helicopters and FL Technics.

Emirates Engineering is part of the Emirates group. It provides support to Emirates Airline together with those of thirty other airlines through third party maintenance contracts. The division can manage and implement all aspects of aircraft engineering support, such as maintenance, safety and logistics.
