The model is expected to be launched in India at the same time as it is in the UK, where the date has been projected as mid October. According to industry sources, Samsung has “set the ball in motion” as far as the India launch is concerned.

This almost certainly means that new Apple iPhone 6, which comes with a 5.5-inch display, will be launched ahead of the Note 4. However, the iPhone 6 5.5-inch is expected to priced at a steep Rs 70,000-75,000 in India, making it around 45% more expensive than the Samsung model.

Two days ago, the Note 4 was posted for preorder on UK websites at 575 Pounds (Rs 57,500). However, the Indian version is expected to be slightly cheaper at Rs 55,000.

The Note 4 is among the most awaited launches in India as it is arguably the most convenient phone from the productivity perspective. The high-end phablet comes with a 5.7-inch, 3.7-megapixel super-Amoled display and a one-of-its-kind stylus. It may also feature very high power, 64-bit Cortex A57 ARM cores.

While most models unveiled so far have LTE, Samsung may choose to release a 3g only version in India given the absence of widespread LTE here. However, with Reliance Jio launching LTE services on March 1, the handset maker may just opt to release a model with LTE as well, or make the default model LTE enabled. In this context, it should be noted that Samsung is putting up a massive 4g LTE network of an estimated 1.3 lakh towers under a contract from Reliance Jio across India.

The phone will also have a 16-MP shooter at the back and will record UHD video. It will compete with the OPPO Find 7 X9076, priced at Rs 38,000. The OPPO Find 7 X9076 comes with a 5.5-inch display with the same resolution and a 13-MP camera. In addition, the OPPO model comes with LTE including TDD and FDD versions.

However, the OPPO ships with Android 4.3, Jelly Bean. The OPPO phone, however, will come with the slighly less powerful, 32-bit Snapdragon 801 platform.

The Samsung Note 4, could possibly come with 64-bit enabled, Exynos 5433 platform. However, it could also come with 32-bit platforms such as the Snapdragon 805 as well, as this part of the confusion is yet to be fully cleared up.
