Huawei readies rival to Lenovo A6000 Plus, Redmi 2S, Yu Yuphoria

As if the existing competition is not enough, Huawei is all set to launch its own entry-level 4G LTE phone in the price range of Rs 7,499-7,999.

UPDATE: Huawei has launched the G620S on Wednesday. The device, however, has an MRP of Rs 9,499 for normal channels. It is likely to be available at Rs 8,000-8,500 online over the next few weeks.

The five-inch phone will be very similar to the specifications of its would be competitors – Xiaomi Redmi 2S, Lenovo A6000 Plus, Yu Yuphoria and Moto E 4G, according to an industry source.

The upcoming Huawei LTE phone, however, is likely to come with just 1 GB of RAM, while most of the above listed models now come with 2G. It would also have a Snapdragon 410 chipset.

Back camera will be 8 MP and on the front will be a 2 MP shooter.

Display would be 5-inch IPS, and operating system is likely to be Android 4.4 KitKat.

Disappointingly, internal memory is likely to be only 8 GB. The phone is unlikely to capture the market if priced above Rs 7,500. Even at Rs 7,500, it would find the going tough, with models like Lenovo A6000 Plus available at just Rs 6,999.

The model, which will belong to the ‘Honor’ family, is likely to be launched before July 15.
