LG G Flex 2 to launch in India in 3 weeks, price Rs 50,000

LG G Flex 2, one of the world’s most advanced phone, is likely to be launched in India by the end of this month at a price of around Rs 50,000, according to a Delhi-based distributor.

The G Flex 2 is the first phone in the world to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit, high-end processor – one of the top 2 ARM processors in the world.

The CPU is Snapdragon MSM8994 Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 plus Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex A57. The phone scored a total of 43,000 on Antutu benchmarks, one of the highest scores by any phone available in the world right now.

Not only does the LG G Flex 2 have high-end internals, it also has a 5.5-inch curved Polymer OLED display with a pixel density of 403 dots per inch.

Polymer OLED or P-OLED displays, like Samsung’s AMOLED displays, generate their own light and do not depend on backlight. As a result, they offer more vivid colours than backlit LED displays.

Another advantage with P-OLED over other displays, including AMOLED, is the possibility of making bendable, or rollable, displays. LG is expected to unveil bendable and rollable displays by 2016-17.

The G Flex 2 is also one of the first phones to come with Android Lolipop 5, and has a 3,000 mAh battery. The LG G Flex 2 being launched in India also has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.

Interestingly, the RAM standard in the phone is DDR4 – perhaps the first phone in India to move from DDR3 to the next version.
