Oppo N3 to compete with Moto X2, Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro in India

Oppo, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary in India, has launched its Oppo N3 smartphone, which will compete with Moto X2 and Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro.

Basic specifications of the Oppo N3 include a Snapdragon 801 8974AA Quad-core 2.3 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB memory, Schneider Kreuznach 16 MP ultra-sophisticated rotating camera, full HD IPS 5.5-inch display and LTE.

The phone is available for preorder in Delhi, with a dealer promising delivery for Rs 36,000.

At the price, the Oppo N3 makes little sense, considering that a similarly speced Moto X2 is priced at Rs 30,000 and the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro, which has twice as many pixels on its display as the other two models, is priced at Rs 33,000.

However, the official price will be known only when the phone hits online portals, expected in the next ten days or so.

If priced around Rs 33,000, the phone would give the Moto X2 a good run for its money. On the positive side, the Oppo N3 comes with support for both types of LTE in use in India – band 3 and band 40, while the Moto X2 supports only band 3.

Band 40 LTE is more prevalent at present, though that would change by the end of the year when band 3 deployments could overtake the other type.

The Oppo N3 also has a very sophisticated revolving camera on top of it.

Another thing to watch out for is that Oppo is going to give discounts and promotions this month on most of its smartphones, and that might make the N3 more affordable.
