Blast in Pakistan’s Quetta claim at least eight lives

Sectarian violence continues to claim innocent lives in the Sunni dominated Pakistan.
News reports emanating from the South western city of Quetta in Pakistan say that the Shia minority suffered a casualty in a blast in the city.
There are conflicting reports about how the killing took place- one say that a gun man started indiscriminate firing and fled, other sources say that a rocket attack killed 8 people and wounded ten others.
However, police is not certain about the cause of the incident.

A group named,Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, is believed to be the mastermind behind the attack on Shia in Pakistan. This group is widely known to be the armed wing of the militant Sunni Sipah-e-Sahaba group.
The clash between the Sunni and Shia has been going on for the last twenty years.
RTN sources claim that the clash between two communities is mostly confined to Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and the North-west and is the result of bitter emotional and societal split between the two communities.
Early this year in January in Lahore and Karachi militants targetted a Shia procession and killed 10 people.

This is the second major attack on Shia in Quetta in the last one year. Last year in September in a major suicide attack on a Shia rally in the city fifty people lost their lives.

Today killing in Quetta is the first violence in Pakistan after the elimination of Osama bin Laden in Abbotabad on May 2.
