Rajendra Pawar of NIIT to be new Nasscom Chairman, Chandrasekaran of TCS to be vice chairman

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) — the powerful industry lobby of India’s software and BPO industry — appointed Rajendra Pawar, chairman of NIIT group as its new chairman.

Som Mittal will continue to be the President of the organization, arguably India’s most successful industry-lobby.

N Chandrasekaran, the CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will take over as the vice chairman, Nasscom said in a statement.

Pawar will replace Harsh Manglik, who became chairman a year ago.

Pawar, who came from humble beginnings to build up India’s largest education and training network, is well respected for being an inspiring leader.
