A new Brazil on the planet

If you can count then count this number -1,210,193,422.Staggering by any standard. This mind boggling figure is India’s population strength in 2011.
1.21 billion is the provisional population data released by the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India.
That means 181 million more people on earth or one more Brazil in the planet.
This growth in population also coincides with the sharpest decline in the population growth in India since Independence.
The population growth declined from 21.54 per cent between 1991-2001 to 17.64 per cent between 2001 and 2011.
But this slowdown in the population is a bit above the government’s projected target. The target was 1.19 billion in 2011 — about 18 million people less than what the 2011 headcount of 1.21 billion has shown.
Uttar Pradesh emerges as the most populous state in India with a figure of 199 million people while Sikkim is the least inhabited state with 607,000 people.
Thane in Maharashtra is the most populated district in India with 1.1 million persons while the North 24-Parganas district of West Bengal comes second with 1 million people.
The district of Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh has the lowest population of 7,948 people.
