SanDisk taps Freescale country head to lead its India design team

SanDisk has tapped Freescale Semiconductor’s India head Ganesh Guruswamy to head its Bangalore-based India Design Center.

Guruswamy, who has been appointed Vice President, will be in charge of leading the memory device maker’s Bangalore-based engineering teams to devleop what it called its next-generation consumer storage solutions, including USB flash drives, memory cards, microSD cards, and other removable flash-based products.

Guruswamy has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry and has also worked at Motorola, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

He has also been on the executive council of the Indian Semiconductor Association (ISA). He holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho in the United States, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electronics from Bangalore University.
