No evidence of rape in Lakhimpur case: Lucknow IG

The Uttar Pradesh government has ruled out rape of the 14-year-old girl, for now.

Subesh Singh, Inspector General of Lucknow said the internal and examination of the exhumed dead body today did not reveal any signs of rape.

He, however, said that swab samples collected from her body, has been sent to two forensic laboratories. Singh also said that murder has been proven by the second autopsy conducted today.

“It is not hanging. It was death by strangulation,” he said.

“There was some negilgence.. some failure.. in the first post mortem report,” he added.
