Post Mortem confirms murder in Lakhimpur

The second post-mortem report on the 14-year-old girl from Lakhimpur has confirmed murder, but neither confirmed or denied rape, according to early reports.

The result is likely to create even more pressure on the authorities to act fast to find the culprits — suspected to be among the Policemen in the Lakhimpur Police Station.

The girl’s body was found hanging on a tree in the Police Station compound on Friday.

The first post-mortem, conducted by a single doctor, had not pointed to murder, but to suicide.
