Kanimozhi approaches Supreme Court for bail

DMK Supreme M Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi has appealed to the Supreme Court for bail, two days after the Delhi High Court rejected her bail.

The Delhi High Court too had rejected her bail on the same grounds as it has for others in the 2G scam case — magnitude of the offence and the possibility of influencing witnesses.

Kanimozhi had appealed to the High Court after her application for bail was rejected by OP Saini, the special CBI judge hearing the 2G scam case in Patiala House.

Kanimozhi had argued that since she was a woman and she was not in active control of her channel — Kalaignar TV, she be allowed to go on bail. She had said that she wanted to take care of her child.
