Sunil Kumar, who threatened to throw a shoe at Congress leader Janardhan Dwivedi, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Kumar, the second journalist to throw shoes at Congress leaders, was protesting government’s police crack down on a group of satyagrahis on Ramlila grounds on Saturday night.
Kumar is expected to get a bail tomorrow as he has been booked under bailable offences.
The arrest has been made after an official complaint by the Congress party. All other ‘shoe throwers’ have been let off without any police action, including one who threw his footwear at home minister P Chidambaram.
Kumar’s interrogation by the police is over. Under judicial custody, the police will not have access to him, unlike if he were in police custody.
