India to miss top five players in West Indies as Yuvraj also pulls out

With Yuvraj Singh also excusing himself from the upcoming West Indies tour, India is all set to go to the Caribbean without its top five players.

The Indian squad leaving for West Indies will now not have MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir or Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj, according to sources, has quoted a “lung infection” for his decision not to go to the West Indies.

Gambhir has already courted controversy by pulling out of the tour despite playing with the injury in the Indian Premier League.

The other three — Dhoni, Tendulkar and Sehwag, won’t make it because of the Cricket board’s decision to ‘rest them.’

The stripped down team is likely to disappoint cricket fans in the country and raise questions about whether the team is playing too much cricket. On the other hand, some point out that the decision will also encourage new talent, especially those who shined in the IPL, to come up and play for the country.
