We will stay the course in Afghanistan: Barrack Obama

Obama has reiterated that the US and the UK intend to forge a long term partnership with the people of Afghanistan, hinting that the two countries will stay in the region longer than anticipated.

According to earlier announced time-table, the US was to start pulling out of Afghanistan by June of next year, raising concern among many states including India.

“We have an interest in ensuring that Afghanistan never again becomes the launchpad for attacks against our nations,” Obama said.

Obama is on a diplomatic visit to Britain, shortly after he started off in Ireland earlier this week. Obama is on his way to other European countries including Poland after the British visit.
