Kanimozhi’s lawyer Ram Jethmalani has said that she will appeal the judgement to deny bail in the High Court of Delhi.
The details of the judgement has not been given out, with the judge OP Saini simply saying “bail plea has been dismissed,” after walking into the Court at 2:30 pm.
Jethmalani said the appeal will be based on the details of the grounds used by Judge OP Saini to deny the bail. “I expect it is the usual..” he said, asked about the grounds on which bail could be denied.
DMK leader K Karunanidhi’s daughter and the MD of Kalaignar channel K Kanimozhi was denied bail in the 2G spectrum scam case a few months ago. The MP is now likely to be sent to the Tihar Jail, where the other accused are also lodged under trial. Sharad Kumar, MD of Kalaignar TV too has been denied bail and therefore sent to judicial custody in Tihar jail.
